The glorious our Tamil medium Government High School , Kanneri Manthanai The Nilgiris was once very famous and brimming with students . The IT BOOM and the LURE and LUST of English medium made even the rural rustic to educate their wards in English medium . This made our school bereft of students and brought it to the brink of closure 7 years back. To avert this and to revive and resurrect , the good intended old students of this school found the NAKKATTY EDUCATIONAL CHARITABLE TRUST and established The PARALLEL ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL in the very same GHS Campus and have been imparting a very good English medium education on par with frontline schools with the aid of inducted excellent experienced teachers for NO FEE . They also made quality students' school uniforms , track suits and shoes free . It is very successful today . Our school is in forefront both in curricular and extra curricular activities ! For the past 3 years at least 2 to 3 of our 8th standard students were getting NMMS (NATIONAL MEANS CUM MERIT SCHOLARSHIP ) out of total 10 to 15 students in entire Nilgiris . A great shot in our arms ! Fetching the cent percentage pass in SSLC was a routine show here for the past 7 years !
